Rosie Tucker
Rosie Tucker
Rosie Tucker is a songwriter with a uniquely lyrical style and a knack for the bittersweet. In May of 2015 she released her first collection of songs, Lowlight, on Soundcloud and Bandcamp. Narrative driven and steeped in imagery, the songs have moved friends, critics, and strangers alike. As one journalist put it, “Tucker has a gift for molding pain into unexpected metaphors from every day life and a wild imagination” (SwellTone). Rosie has leant her songs to performances curated by Sokamba Performing Arts Company and The Altar Collective (an independent literary magazine) and has recently taken to collaborating with film friends. She was a finalist in the 2014 Kerrville Folk Festival’s acclaimed New Folk songwriting contest and was a featured performer at the 2015 LA Times Festival of Books. She recently journeyed to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to record several sessions for Fogged Clarity, an arts and poetry review. In addition to her solo project, Rosie writes for and plays bass in Gypsum, a post-rock band.
Minimall
Minimall
Minimall is a band from Los Angeles, trying to make the world a quirkier place one tune at a time. Formed in 2015 by a 21st-century combo of internet pals and high school friends, the five-piece band takes a democratic and expansive approach to creation, with three primary songwriters and four lead singers. Drawing from a variety of influences, from 2006 blog-rock to Sufjan Stevens, Minimall's music is jubilant indie-pop for the modern age. Their live shows are unforgettable— wearing matching jackets, switching instruments, and keeping up a flow of laugh-out-loud banter, Minimall and their chorally-trained harmonies and sing-along choruses are guaranteed to make their mark.
