This event is 21 and over

It’s a rare surprise to stumble across a new band and feel like you’ve known their songs your whole life. Yeses’s music has that strange, dream-like quality of feeling familiar, almost nostalgic, yet impossible to place. The Los Angeles band’s songs are the kind you fall in love with and don’t get tired of— the kind that demand your attention and reveal more with each deeper listen. The lyrics have a road-weary kind of weight to them, supported by a rich musical backdrop of melodies you can’t easily forget. Yeses makes music for music-lovers. Their debut EP is due out in the Spring.
The Holy Knives
The Holy Knives is the living dream of brothers Kyle and Kody Anderson, a band that infuses the dark sound of rock and roll with the playfulness of pop. Their debut EP was recorded at Sonic Ranch with Latin grammy-nominated producer Manuel Calderon (The Chamanas, Nina Diaz).
The 4-song EP is a curated tour of The Holy Knives’ sonic possibilities. Drawing inspiration from acts like Portishead, Portugal. The Man, and The Doors, the band hones a collection of hypnotic, introspective anthems over dark, groovy dreamscapes, allowing the music to feel simultaneously familiar and fresh.
Their recorded music is bolstered by their live performance, a refined ritual that is relentless in its pace and religious in its fervor. Throughout 2018, The Holy Knives will be showcasing their creative performance by touring across the United States.
The life behind JR Slayer is a grouping of works by Cody Votolato, formerly the guitarist of The Blood Brothers, Jaguar Love and currently, Head Wound City. The moniker serves as a creative outlet and umbrella for Producing, Remixing, Writing and Performing. JR SLAYER BAND is the group put together to perform live.
