brightener is the moniker of solo artist Will Sturgeon, a songwriter living in various parts of Southern California. "make real friends - EP" is brightener's first official release, but his back catalogue of videos and demos is dispersed through many corners of the internet, solitary and persevering without the recognition or love of an official release. (They'll be ok, he checks on them every once in a while.)

"make real friends - EP" was written in a small sunny courtyard adjacent to his room at his mom's house in Palm Springs, CA, where he spent six months in a post-college haze reading, walking his dog, writing, playing ultimate frisbee, making new friends, and reacquainting himself to the town he grew up in (and the accompanying memories) after being away from it for the past seven years. It was fun.
The Nova Darlings
Music band of sweaty white boys from Los Angeles.
Sure Sure
Sure Sure plays warm, groovy tunes for folks who want to pop off. They used to be called Jr.

"Sure Sure is a quartet who works a rich seam of splindly guitars with lush string arrangements. Songs like "New Biome" and "The Expert" are unique in how they hone art pop sensibilities, with smooth melodic contours and backwoods harmonies that faintly evoke bands like Grizzly Bear and Field Music. And do I hear some bossa nova chords embedded into the mix? Their measured style is an uncommon one, and all the better for it, seeing as their first singles exhibit an attention to songcraft that is smart, inventive, and undeniably catchy." - The Deli Magazine

"Better than Jr." - Mick

"Sure Sure answers questions you didn't know you had yet." - Mark Twain
Huxlee is the recording project of Caitlin Notey
