The Little Miss

Imagine a house party where Woody Guthrie, Sam Cooke, Johnny Cash, and Fiona Apple all sing a Robert Johnson tune together... that's The Little Miss.” The Little Miss is the moniker of Los Angeles-based artist, Hayley Johnson, who created the project in the spirit of old time-y folk and country-western music. With the addition of her bandmates, “The Cactus Kissers,” she has since found a way to blend the old with the new, focusing on maintaining the vintage western flair of a Marty Robbins while introducing the more contemporary existential and comedic elements of a Father John Misty (but with, perhaps, a *little* less self-loathing). This unique blending of genres, in combination with Johnson’s ever-relatable lyrics, has become Johnson’s signature: a presence that is equal parts heartbreakingly earnest and tongue-in-cheek.

Songs from The Little Miss' debut EP, American Dream, have been featured on KCRW, Billboard, Wide Open Country, Tidal's Country Rising playlist and, most recently, the FX television show, Better Things. The band has played at Bradley, CA music festival, Lightning in a Bottle, The Annie O Music Series atop The Standard in New York, and have been working to become a staple of the Los Angeles Americana circuit. The Little Miss’ debut full-length album, Best Self, is due out in Summer 2020.

Mercury Slim

Singer songwriter Mercury Slim spent his youth roaming the Southwest, never living anywhere for longer than a year and a half.During this time, music became his constant companion, the voices of melodic misfits like Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, and Nina Simone lending him the courage to blaze his own trail. He spent the years after high school honing his talent as a drummer in local bands, but a growing passion for songwriting pushed him to branch off and pursue a solo career. After becoming a regular at venues around Santa Fe and Albuquerque,Mercury Slim headed west to try his luck in the City of Angels.

Three years in LA have helped Mercury Slim refine his sound into its current iteration: an uplifting blend of old and new influences that lands somewhere between psychedelic folk and R&B. The self-taught musician draws inspiration from his psycho-spiritual and somewhat chaotic upbringing in the Southwest.

Whether singing about love, loss, or disdain for society, his central message is our ability to rise above. Mercury Slim is currently recording his debut album with producer Jon Gilbert (Mt. Joy, The Kills, Adam Melchore

Sean Fleming

Los Angeles singer-songwriter Sean Fleming's dreamy Americana-Folk sound has graced many night clubs, campfires, and music festivals over the past five years. Fleming released Glow Worms fall of 2017, which was recorded with Israel Nash in the hill country near Austin, Texas. Joey McClellan (Elle King, BQNT, Midlake) has also lended his guitar chops on a handful of the songs. Since it's release, Glow Worms has drawn comparisons to acts such as Fleet Foxes, The War On Drugs & Lord Huron. Fleming is known for his sweet falsetto, sometimes raspy tenor vocals and the raw sincere energy he delivers on stage. Fleming captures a new Californian take on Cosmic American Folk Music. Glow Worms makes for a fine traveling companion- whether you are wandering through a vacant desert or careening down the coast in the sunshine.
