June Swoon

Brash, cheeky, and bittersweet, June Swoon is what Dolly Parton in Doc Martens might sound like if she were riding a skateboard in the 1990s. Sacramento native and seasoned musician Juli Lydell first established June Swoon as her first solo project in 2018. While making her debut LP in bedrooms and studios between Los Angeles, Oakland, and Nashville, she started gaining a sizable following with her cathartic live shows. In 2019, she released her first two singles, "Whatever Ever After" and "Marrying Kind," before releasing her debut album, “This Town Could Be Big Enough for the Both of Us.” The debut LP uses garage guitars, abstract noise-influenced music, and country-western motifs to explore themes of intimacy, identity, and femininity. Now a politically conscious, raucous four-piece band (Juli Lydell, Nate Hopwood, Carter Hill, and Nick Javier), June Swoon is a part of the DIY movement, and believes art-making is a public service that increases emotional intelligence. Artists do this by metabolizing collective feelings and making them into objects to be examined. Showgoers can expect community and catharsis at any June Swoon show. June Swoon's folk-influenced experimental rock with punk sensibilities has been compared to Kurt Vile, Land of Talk, and Brand New.

Gal Pal

Los Angeles musicians Emelia Austin, Shayna Hahn, and Nico Romero met during college in Santa Cruz, bonding over the desire to take up space in the local music scene. The three began learning new instruments in order to create the band they wanted to become, motivated by live diy shows hosted by friends. Their most recent summer release "Unrest/Unfeeling" is the band's reimagining of possibilities within their sound, inviting elements of powerhouse pop, new wave punk, melodic synth, and queer expression.

Model Child

Model Child is the project of LA-based songwriter and musician Danny Parker. Drawing on influences like Le Tigre, of Montreal, and The Prodigy, Parker fuses in-your-face punk sensibilities with razor-sharp pop craftsmanship to create raw, honest, and darkly playful dance-punk anthems. Growing up in Northern Virginia, Parker split his time between friends’ garage bands and the school marching band, developing an eclectic taste for both wild DIY jams and tight theatrical productions -- dueling elements on full display at Model Child’s rousing live shows, which feature costumes, props, and thrilling onstage antics. This energy permeates Parker’s music, which showcases his cutting sense of humor as he turns private experiences into political commentary.
