HOTT MT
HOTT MT
Hour Of The Time Majesty Twelve (HOTT MT) is an experimental pop group based in LA. Together, duo Spooki Tavi and Ashi Dala create cartoon-like psychedelic worlds. Since their formation in 2012, the group has collaborated with: The Flaming Lips, Ariel Pink, Erykah Badu, and Ke$ha. They have also opened for: The Flaming Lips, Bat For Lashes and Galaxie 500. Inspired by sci-fi fantasy scores and medieval arrangements, HOTT MT promise to take you to a magical place and leave you there.
Draag
Draag
Draag started in the fall of 2013 as the solo recording project of Adrian Acosta (guitar, programs, vocals) who would go on to recruit the rest of the band mid-way through the process of recording their first LP. With Jessica Huang (guitar, keys, samples and vocals), Adrian De La Cruz (guitar), Nick Kelly (bass) and Ernie Estrada (drums), the band doesn't play by genre conventions. But, are very shy and accepting that life is often disappointing. In April of 2014, Draag released their debut album. The album was positively received by many blogs, with much anticipation to see the band live. On July 24th 2014, Draag played their very first show at the very intimate LOT 1 Cafe in Echo Park, to a capacity crowd with very little promotion. The show was later described by Buzzbands LA writer Kevin Bronson as "A blissfully ear bleeding experience".
James V
James V
James V (James-the-Fifth) is an LA-based recording artist whose debut EP San Narciso (SAN-Nar-Kee-So) was released in December 2016 on Marriage Records. For over a year, James toiled in his asbestos-rampant home studio for countless hours “recording” (i.e. browsing FB, editing the Wikipedia page for John Pesci, tracking guitar, re-editing the Wikipedia page for John Pesci) his new musical venture. Secluded in this haze, he created San Narciso, an oblong dreamy stew of psych and funk with elements of Reichian minimalism, which his guitar teacher of 10 years referred to as “Morrissey jizz”. After emailing out his EP link to countless interns across the globe, James found a home in Marriage Records, which has released albums by artists such as Dirty Projectors and tUnE-yArDs. Live he is joined by a talented amalgam of connections from past college jazz bands and Craigslist personals -- Daniel Seman (guitar), Kirby Ditto (guitar, keyboards), Shannon Cain (bass) and Max Kelly (drums). His EP is available now on cassette at Burger Records and Gnarburger Records.
